The porch where we hold classes is the municipal building for Tlacochahuaya. It is the jail, the records office, etc. It houses most of the government for the town. As a result, it was also the polling station. There were no signs or reports of the chaos we had experienced in the capital city. In fact, we could see the names of the registered voters, the number of people who voted (367), and the winning party (in the town): morena.
Seeing as there is no supermarket in town and everybody seems to know everybody, 367 voters seemed like a great number to us. Perhaps democracy did win?
