Yesterday, for lunch, I ordered a Hawaiian torta. It is a ham and pineapple sandwich stuffed with cheese, tomatoes, avocado, and jalapenos.
According to the name of the eatery, the sandwich is ginormous. I display half of the gooey goodness in this photo I took while lunching in the Jardin Conzatti, my local park.
In this park, there is another torta stand, called La Hormiga (The Ant). The tortas are much smaller, but the menu is a lot broader than Super Tortas Gigantes’s. I pick the giant sandwich for its size, freshness, and for the fact that it does not come slathered with beans. (Damn the epazote.)
