1. Do not get in a staring contest with them. They do not blink. (Like me, they can’t even wink.)
2. Their name is the onomatopoetic representation of the sound they make when geckoing at others of their kind.
3. Just as their lizard relatives, they can shed their attractive tails in a pinch.
4. These lively climbers will ascend vertical surfaces, traverse ceilings, greet you at the door.
5. Under pressure, they will either flee, or, in at least one case, try to attack your face.
A gecko jumped on my head once…I have been traumatized ever since haha.
