In the last few minutes of class today, we played ahorcado (hanged). We played only three rounds and were never hanged. Even a simple game like Hangman is a good way to practice vocabulary. I like the interactive approach that my Spanish teachers take in making learning memorable: speed dating, theatrical productions, and variations of the games Psychiatrist and Password. These activities complement our other studies including reading essays and writing paragraphs.
In one theatrical production the other day, I was a stereotypically macho husband in a drama depicting some of the cultural challenges related to patriarchal and hierarchical systems trying to change. I was a good bad husband.
