Yesterday was my first afternoon back with the kids in Tlacochahuaya. They greeted me warmly, Gerardo belting out Heath—-air in the sweet way he does.
The classroom was not available; it is a construction zone right now, so we sat on the lawn outside of the church, grateful that it wasn’t raining.
There was one new student: Diana. Abigail, Kevin, Ulisses, and Gabriel participated in the class. Gerardo and Magdalena dropped in for a hug, promising to return to class next week.
We weren’t exactly back at square one, but there’s a lot of work to be done.
I’m afraid a month is not long enough.
