Knowledge is vain and fruitless which is not reduced to practice.
Matthew Henry
Part of me misses the Spanish classroom, the daily infusion of words into my vocabulary, the new tidbits of information about culture and history, the practice with verbs, and the teachers to immediately correct the words.
However, I know that it is essential to face the impromptu tests of casual conversation outside of the classroom and to force myself to correct and study as I need it.
Of course I miss having someone I can ask to help me with sentences I find puzzling, to connect the cultural dots, etc., but it is also exhilarating to talk to people whose accents, mannerisms, and faces I do not immediately recognize.
