For all of those who asked, Noche de los Rabanos is a 115-year-old tradition. And, according to this report more than twenty-thousand people concentrated in the Zocalo to see these works. I am glad to know there were more than twenty-thousand because it sure did feel crowded.
When I was on the Zocalo for the Nochebuena processions, there was no sign of the stands or the radishes. It was as if they were never there. The large crowds, though, remained to welcome Jesus.
