At today’s tianguis in Llano Park, the park was still full of the fair and vendors and celebration for the Virgen de Guadalupe. However, a couple of days before the celebration the city was preparing the park. Among other things, they were filling the fountains with fresh water. I had never seen anything like this, and I was impressed that they were using water for human use. I think this is because children often dip their hands in, and teenagers are inclined to toss a friend in on a fairly regular basis.
The funny thing to me is that the park is still so full of rides and other attractions that I haven’t seen the fountain all week. I also can’t figure out where the park benches are anymore. It is as if they were devoured by the rest of the fiesta.
