The election was part of some of the talk in conversation class this afternoon. Some of the people boasted that their states had finally legalized same sex marriage, recreational marijuana use, and a variety of other topics, including Proposition 30 in California which supports education through increased taxes. A woman from Wisconsin proudly declared that yesterday they elected the first openly gay senator. Most seemed elated at most of the outcomes and relieved that the year and a half (or more) of campaigning was over.
A political news junkie, I am thrilled to be home in time for the Sunday programs; I want to hear some of what I’ve missed.
Obama’s win was front-page news of all of the newspapers I could see this morning.
