I was listening to some English speakers in a cafe complaining about how busy they are. I can always hear English above any other language, especially complaining. This got me to thinking about how there really isn’t an equivalent for “busy” here in Oaxaca. People are working, but they are also spending time with their families, enjoying their homes and friends. Many people work six days a week, if not seven. But they do not seemed to be tyrranized by the clock as most of us in the United States are. Looking at their pace of things (of course through a tourist’s lens), I think there is a lot to be learned.
