The posada will fill up on Wednesday, the day I leave. It will fill for two full weeks during the Guelaguetza.
The zocalo has already filled. It is a zoo. The sidewalks overflow with vendors selling the usual colorful abundance of wares but in greater abundance. It is as if the Benito Juarez market turned inside out and an eighth or so of its contents spilled under the shade of the trees.
It’s interesting to take a couple of laps around the impromptu market, but the crowds are growing steadily. There is nowhere to sit in the shade. And the roaming salespeople have become more adamant in their pursuit of money.
Loving your pics! I lived in Oaxaca for a while. Good times, for sure. Hope you’re enjoying your time there 🙂
