Last winter, I was in Oaxaca, and the pageantry there was impressive on a daily basis, especially as we sped into the arrival of Jesus in the manger.
With the semester wrapping up barely in advance of Christmas, it is sometimes hard to get into the spirit, but we went to the nieces’ winter fair. In the gymnasium, a group of children performed a lively Mexican folk dance, and another group performed as a miniature rock band. That was all it took to make me want to decorate a tree and bake.
I need more dancing and music. I need more color and more fun.
