Yesterday we went to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park to see what’s happening with the volcano.
We went to the Kilauea caldera at the Jaggar Museum overlook in daylight and dark to see the plumes of gas and glowing fire erupting before us. In daylight, the gases are sort of anticlimactic, but there was a beautiful rainbow dipping into the caldera on the windy, misty Saturday afternoon we arrived. After nightfall, the show is worthy of a standing ovation.
