I went to the supermarket tonight to pick up the last of the things I need for my fiesta with the artisans tomorrow night. As I was strolling through the aisles, I was surprised by the almost hour of Christmas songs in English that blared over the store.
People saw and heard me singing “Silent Night,” “Jingle Bells,” “Deck the Halls,” “Dashing through the Snow” up and down the aisles. As if non-stop Christmas isn’t too much already, these tunes take me to karaoke levels.
I looked up Spanish songs, including Villancicos. Most seem more serious than “Jingle Bells,” for example, except for one about posadas.
