cumbia!

A cumbia band was scheduled to play on the stage where the jumbo-tron was set up to show the World Cup on Sunday, and they did perform to a mostly desolate crowd. The music was upbeat even though the video backdrop was recapping the loss over and over. A couple of times the band, noticing our reactions to the screen, looked back and helplessly carried on with the show. About three couples danced. Most just sat quietly in their seats.

Mature partners, the couples knew how to move together in a display that was both playful and joyful.
