I went to see the movie Amigos, a French comedy, a the Cineopolis last night. The movie started at 8:45, but I headed out around 6:30 to buy candy for my hosts in Arrazola and to get a ticket early.
Mexico has a great system where ticket purchasers select the specific seat they want. I also like to be at the end of the aisle, so I picked the seat H-1. It was illuminated in blue which meant someone already had it, so I picked G-1. It was fantastic, no worries about finding a seat.
The movie is hilarious and heartwarming and hilarious. Although viewers can see the ending coming, there are plenty of surprises and fascinating characters to drive the plot.
In this film, I learned that I read slowly, but I also was able to keep up (with one or two exceptions) with the story line. I was delighted to be laughing, a couple of times nearly doubled over, as my peers were also cracking up around me.
Two hours of pure joy made me feel, for a moment, as if I might be back in Sacramento hanging out with friends. However, after I realized that taxis practically vanish after 10 and the ones that were close did not want to head back to my side of town, I was no longer in Cineopolis. I was back in Oaxaca.
I know laughter is important, and it is even better with a bucket of chili popcorn and a captivating storyline.
