I had my first Chinese food in Oaxaca from a Panda Express type stand within the Soriana building. The man at the counter was extremely patient as I asked what each of the itmes contained (as if I had never had Chinese food before). I settled on the pork ribs and orange chicken (as I might in Sacramento) with a side of rice that seemed to be more steamed than fried. The establishment also offered onions that were practically pickled in the jalapenos that accompanied them, a delicious, and potent, condiment.
Chinese food in Sacramento can sometimes make my stomach feel a bit angry. By contrast, this was delicious and did nothing more to my stomach than delight. I recommend fast Chinese food here. The photo doesn’t do it justice.
