Five Dogs and an Afternoon Siesta (Nap)

Passing Parque Conzatti in the heat of the afternoon, I stopped to snap a shot of this man and his five dogs reclining in the park. At first, I was concerned that this dozing man was surrounded by random flacos, but then I realized that each had a collar.

Perhaps if I lived in this city full time, I might take in all of the sweet dogs I find.

Miguel, in the Posada, said, the other night as we were talking, “You don’t have children; you know the dueno (landlord) of this posada work in an orphanage.” I responded, “Right, no children and no I didn’t know he does anything more than collect the money on Saturday nights.” He said, “You could take a baby home to the US with you when you leave. You won’t have to worry about having a baby of your own; you’ll have a Mexican one.” I politely changed the subject, knowing that I will take neither flacos nor ninos (babies).
