Beer at the School?

Just outside of the classrooms as were wrapping up teaching tonight, some women had brought a barbecue, a malt blender, and various other paraphernalia to assist in the making of candles in beer steins. They used the natural honey-gold color of one of the waxes with a thick white paraffin to form the foam which had to be installed quickly and outfitted with the wick.

As these industrious ladies whipped the thick white with the milkshake machine, it was identical in looks (and sound) to the creation of a shake. However, the heavy odor of smoking paraffin was clearly the material of candles and neither beer nor malt.

I am impressed with the creativity, industriousness, and portability of the process.
