Guelaguetza in October?

The men from Teotitlan were dressed in what they wear to perform the Dance of the Plume, and there were others outfitted in their Guelaguetza finest parading from Santo Domingo with two more brides this Saturday afternoon (no, not at the same time).

The Guelaguetza is one of Oaxaca’s great traditions, and the tourists filling the city are getting a small taste of what the two weeks of Guelagetza are like: music, parades, fireworks, dancers in ornate outfits, celebration everywhere.

In fact, I know now that Oaxaca finds something to celebrate at least every other day, and more. And, see the photo of the onlookers, like me. We are all a part of the joy.
